Sewing Machine Operator

Position Summary: The Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for the construction of all upholstered product with the correct fabric specified by the customer to ensure the highest customer satisfaction. This position will be a member of the sewing team as an active sewing machine operator.

Essential Job Functions: Ability to operate industrial sewing machine equipment. Inspect all material prior to sewing for any damage. Must understand material properties, operations of industrial sewing machines, understand different @types of stitches and the use of each @type of stitch, and know material cutting techniques. Will work with custom materials, mesh and vinyl. Complete inspection of fabric to ensure a quality product prior to delivery to next station. Perform the material gluing process and have the ability to learn other upholstery processes. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job. Additional job-related duties as required.

Education & Experience: High school diploma preferred. Must have 1 or more years of industrial sewing experience. Some experience working with upholstery in a manufacturing setting. Physical Requirements: Performing tasks in a sitting and/or standing position for extended periods of time. Some Repetitive movements. No physical limitations that limit the ability to carry and move product weighing up to 50 pounds.

Wage: $16.50/hour - $21.00/hour, depending on experience
