Job Description:

A forklift driver isresponsible for operating a forklift to safely and efficiently move goods, pallets, and materials around a warehouse or industrial facility, including loading and unloading trucks, stacking pallets, and relocating inventory while adhering to strict safety regulations and company procedures;they also perform basic equipment checks and maintenance to ensure proper functionality.

Key responsibilities may include:

Operating forklift:

Driving a forklift to move pallets and materials throughout the warehouse, including maneuvering in tight spaces and navigating around other workers and equipment.

Loading and unloading trucks:

Carefully loading and unloading goods from delivery trucks using the forklift.

Stacking and unstacking pallets:

Precisely stacking pallets in designated storage areas according to inventory control instructions.

Inventory control:

Maintaining accurate inventory by verifying product quantities and locations

Safety checks:

Performing pre-shift inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in proper working order, including checking fluid levels, lights, and brakes.

Documentation:

Completing necessary paperwork related to product movement, including receiving and shipping documents.

Following safety guidelines:

Adhering to all warehouse safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following proper forklift operation procedures.

Required skills and qualifications:

Valid forklift operator license

Strong hand-eye coordination and good depth perception

Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy loads

Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Basic mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance checks

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Work environment:

Primarily in a warehouse setting, which can be noisy and may include temperature fluctuations depending on the facility.

May involve standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions
