We are seeking a Welder for Carbon Steel: Structural and Plat Fabrication to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.For more information please visit: www.upstatesteel.com Responsibilities: Read, interpret, and fabricate components in accordance with blueprints and shop drawings Consistently meet established production and quality standards Collaborate effectively with a team of welders and fabricators Identify and report engineering discrepancies and template errors Set up and operate a variety of metal shop equipment, including torches, grinders, and saws Perform welding in compliance with AWS D1.1, D1.5, and NYS SCM codes Execute welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, and SAW Demonstrate strong blueprint and shop drawing interpretation skills Perform layout work using templates and precision tools such as squares, tape measures, soapstone, and gauging devices Safely perform basic rigging and operate overhead cranes Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Prior construction and/or industrial experience required Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional heavy lifting Comfortable working in varying conditions, including noise, dust, and temperature extremes * Willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet production demands This is a full time, 40 hour/ week position.
