Colonial Manor of Amana is the skilled nursing division of Amana Retirement Community.

We are looking for an experienced Director of Nursing to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility. You will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies.

Responsibilities

Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (RN, LPN, CNA.)

Scheduling of nurses and CNA's

Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department

Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures

Develop and enforce policies to meet federal and state regulatory requirements

Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed

Oversee the infection control and QAPI programs

Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations

Report to upper management

Willing to work as a nurse or CNA to cover open shifts if needed.

Willing to take call

Skills

Proven experience as director of nursing preferred but not required

Knowledge of federal and state regulations for skilled nursing facilities

Must love working with the elderly population

Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel

Great communication and people skills

Outstanding organizational and stress management skills

Aptitude in problem-solving

Must be an RN with an Iowa license in good standing

Valid nursing and CPR certification
