This is a guest facing position; $18-$20 per hour

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Village Market Line Cook is responsible for preparing made-to-order sandwiches, bagels, and other menu items while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. This role ensures food quality, cleanliness, food safety compliance, and an inviting experience for customers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare sandwiches, Bagels, pizza, and other menu items according to customer specifications and established recipes.

Take customer orders and answer questions about menu items and ingredients.

Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards for all food products.

Stock and replenish ingredients, packaging, and supplies throughout the day.

Monitor freshness and rotate products using first-in, first-out procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation area.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.

Assist with receiving deliveries and putting away inventory.

Help with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and preparing workstations.

Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous food service, deli, café, or customer service experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and food quality.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and food safety guidelines.

Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Weekday, evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required.

Ability to multitask and prioritize during busy service periods.

Interest in food preparation and customer hospitality.

Strong work ethic and willingness to assist with various café and market operations.
