JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT TRANSPORTAION DIRECTIOR

NATURE OF WORK

Work involves supervision of all Bossier Council on Aging (BCOA) transportation drivers, their routes and vehicles.

Ensure drivers receive periodic training involving customer service, safe and defensive driving, BCOA policy standards and minor vehicle maintenance.

Makes recommendations to the Assistant Executive Director and Executive Director about the needs of particular clients, establishes case files on new clients, and documents requirements in clients case files.

Assist in filing all transportation related Medicaid Claims files claims as necessary.

Keep records of expiration dates for licenses of vehicles.

Ensures regulation and insurance papers are on vehicles.

Must be proficient in utilizing personal desktop computer.

Assist individuals in gaining access to needed services; providing technical assistance and guidance to client seeking to obtain social services.

Preforms other work and special projects as directed by the Assistant Executive Director and/or Executive Director.

Examples of Work (Not an all-inclusive list)

Supervises all transportation employees.

Duties include scheduling, assessing routes for services delivery; inspecting vehicles and personnel to ensure compliance with BCOA and GOEA regulations.

Ensure compliance with GOEA and Medicaid rules and regulations involving transportation services.

Ensure vehicle logs, all transportation employees complete gas purchase forms, funding vouchers, and all other necessary forms accurately.

Assist with completing monthly statistical transportation report to the Department of Transportation DOTD and GOEA.

Coordinates with and approves input to the Assistant Executive Director on any needed supplies and equipment for the transportation vehicles and routes. Ensure transportation drivers have necessary equipment to complete their required assignments.

Performs as a transportation driver as needed.

Assist with filing all transportation related Medicaid Claims and re-file as necessary.

Keep transportation board up to date at all times and vehicle services ae required.

Records the need of applicants for services based on established criteria.

Ensure BCOA vehicles are safe, clean, driven and maintained in accordance with DOTD Safety Standards, Manufactures specifications, and BCOA policies.

Follows procedures for contributions and cash.
