The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and providing preventive and corrective maintenance support to the production areas in support of TSS Denver's Vision--Mission--Values (VMV). They perform a wide variety of repairs for equipment failures and mechanical systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Utilizes the Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) program; requires performing preventive maintenance for machines and equipment.

Performs maintenance, service, and repair of industrial/plant functions including carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, miscellaneous facility repairs, and minor electrical and/or mechanical systems.

Diagnoses machine and equipment failures as needed with minimal assistance from higher-level mechanics

Maintains, repairs, and replaces equipment and/or parts as needed with minimal direction from higher-level mechanics.

Ensures appropriate recordkeeping of all duties performed.

Performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance, service, and repair of equipment in an effective and timely manner to ensure maintenance requirements are met.

Works with outside maintenance crews for more specialized projects.

Maintain, fill and change out oil, coolants, and fluids used in machine tools.

Education and Experience

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Should have 2-4 years previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment working with electrical and mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and all @types of production/industrial machines. Prefer previous experience of how troubleshooting and/or program systems, including PLC knowledge.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal; includes building relationships with team lead and Supervisor

Must be able to pass internal forklift and scissor lift certifications

Must understand and follow the Lockout/Tagout procedure as required

Ability to operate machine tools with minimal direction

Ability to operate and maintain specialized tools used in electrical, carpentry, plumbing and related building trades

Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and/or mechanical systems with minimal direction

PLC knowledge on how to troubleshoot and/or program systems

Knowledge of HVAC systems

Solid mechanical/electrical aptitude with ability to read drawings and schematics for both

Ability to measure and calculate angles, lengths and volumes

Ability to prepare records and reports; requires reading and interpreting manuals, specifications, drawings and blueprints

Must have a high level of attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills

Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills

Ability to work in a team environment

Should have a solid level of mechanical aptitude with the ability to run various @types of machinery

Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative without close supervision while following directives

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Equipment Used

This position is located in a manufacturing facility which requires prolonged standing, walking, squatting, twisting, bending, and reaching throughout a scheduled shift. Must be able to work with heavy machinery with an ever-changing workload. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
