We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Slitter Operator to join our manufacturing team specializing in steel coil processing. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain slitting machinery, ensuring precise cuts and high-quality output. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and safety protocols. Candidates with experience in fabrication, blueprint reading, and various machining techniques are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities

Set up and operate steel coil slitting machines with precision to meet specified dimensions and tolerances

Perform routine inspections of coils and finished products using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments

Adjust machine parameters based on blueprint specifications and quality standards

Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary adjustments

Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for proper machine setup and operation

Utilize hand tools, tooling, cranes, forklifts, and other equipment safely during operations

Document production data accurately for traceability and process improvement purposes

Adhere to all safety guidelines related to manufacturing operations including crane operation, welding, plasma cutting, CNC machining, and electrical discharge machining

Experience

Prior experience operating slitting machines or similar manufacturing equipment is preferred

Knowledge of CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, press brake machines, electrical discharge machining, plasma cutting, welding, and fabrication techniques is advantageous

Mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal processing, tooling setup, machining processes, and blueprint reading is essential

Familiarity with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments is required

Experience working with cranes or forklifts in a manufacturing setting is beneficial

Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication and assembly processes

Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles
