Job description:

Maple Manor is an inpatient alcohol and drug rehab facility that can accommodate 24 individuals. You must be willing to work the following shifts: 4 PM - Midnight. An all day shift schedule is not available for this position. Must be available for shift coverage on weekends.

THE DUTIES:

Has knowledge on Maple Manor's handbook as to enforce program rules and regulations. Has the ability to be firm by providing guidance and consequences to clients as needed when they are not following the rules.

Understands the program's safety precautions and responds to emergency situations.

Attends and transports clients to: AA/NA meetings, medical appointments as needed, and educational conferences.

Answers the telephone, takes messages where applicable and provide program information as needed.

Attends assigned shifts in order to provide coverage for the 24 hour inpatient facility.

Identifies whatever services are needed for the well-being of the clients.

Monitors, supervises, and provides directives to clients to ensure safety and program integrity during assigned shifts. This includes conducting 15 minute room checks from 11pm to 8am and ensuring the clients are completing assigned chores.

Maintains the housekeeping/cleanliness of Maple Manor. This includes: dusting, cleaning restrooms, changing garbage's, cleaning the kitchen, filling/emptying the dishwasher, sweeping, mopping, and all other housekeeping needs.

Has cooking knowledge to prepare meals as needed and assist in clean up.

Witness' clients taking their prescribed medications according to the dose listed.

Documents in clients charts.

Communicates effectively with treatment team members regarding client issues/concerns.

Maintains professional, appropriate, and health relationship with clients by setting firm and clear boundaries.

Ensures strict confidentiality of clients and agency related matters

THE REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to develop and maintain a sympathetic and understanding attitude when working with program clients.

Ability to learn and apply simple principles and methods of drug and alcohol rehabilitation to facility residents.

Ability to make judgments regarding the health and welfare of program clients and to respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

Ability to provide appropriate transportation for residents to appointments.

Ability to maintain records.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Experience in residential facility or healthcare preferred, but no previous experience and training is required. Driver's License is required. Drug testing is required.
