Summary: The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) is responsible for setting consistent and feasible plans for all steps in the supply chain: procurement of materials, in-house manufacturing, and distribution to customers. The SCM coordinates activity across departments to execute these plans. The SCM analyzes historical parts usage data to build forecast models and maintain optimal levels of inventory, interfaces with Purchasing and Logistics departments to optimize costs of inbound goods, freight, and warehousing, and manages parts shortages to ensure a steady supply of components. The SCM supervises plant-level material planning personnel. Occasional travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Chair and coordinate the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process for the business.

Set the Master Production Schedule for all product families.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize procurement, production, inventory, and transportation processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Develop forecasting models for purchased goods based on historical usage, market conditions, and future sales demand.

Monitor inventory levels, coordinate storage, and ensure timely delivery of products while minimizing waste and delays.

Coordinate with Purchasing personnel to manage supplier performance and maintain strong business relationships to procure high-quality materials.

Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.

Assess and manage operational and final risks associated with supply chain.

Develop, maintain, and manage supply chain metrics and KPIs associated with inbound goods.

Analyze logistics data, identify operational gaps, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and service quality.

Develop and manage contingency plans for supply disruptions and parts shortages to ensure a steady supply of purchased goods.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervisor for site-level material planning personnel.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Engineering from four-year college and 8 years relevant work experience.
