Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist manages the Company's expenses by analyzing invoices and expense reports, resolving accounting discrepancies, and recording expenses to the chart of accounts.

Job Duties:

Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.

Receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Recording expenses in General Ledger through the Accounts Payable Module.

Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.

Comparing Purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.

Verifying vendor account statements to accounting records, and resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies.

Issuing purchase order amendments and stop payments.

Reconciling account transactions with the general ledger.

Performing recordkeeping and preparing financial reports.

Keeping informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.

Experience:

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related.

At least 2 years' experience as an AP Specialist or similar.

Personal Characteristics:

Competency in accounting and business management software.

In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles and accounting standards

Experience in account reconciliation.

Attention to detail.

Great time management and organizational skills.

Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in a facility that handles allergens including but not limited to: wheat, soy, egg, milk, and tree nuts

Must be able to work in open environments exposed to pungent odors and varying climates.

Prolonged periods of sitting in a chair and working on a computer.
