POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will perform various accounting duties in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and CPAs accounting, audit, and reporting requirements and policies. Job responsibilities will include maintaining and analyzing general ledger records and budget variances, preparing program reports, ensuring fiscal compliance with assigned contracts, processing accounts receivable and deposits, balance sheet account reconciliations, and preparing monthly and/or quarterly grant reports for both government and private funders.

The individual must possess a blend of technical, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, communication and individual leadership skills. The ability to effectively interact and build credible relationships with the administrative team, which includes the Fiscal Office, and agency programs is critical. A commitment to and understanding of agency goals, financial acumen, excellent analytical and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, prioritize and a focus on meeting all deliverables is essential, along with sound judgment, and ability to determine when and where independent judgment and initiative should be exercised.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Bachelors degree in accounting.

At least 3 or more years of progressively responsible experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, payroll, reconciliations, and internal management reporting.

Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and non-profit accounting experience are strongly preferred.

Self-motivated individual with effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize the work appropriately.

Able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and implement changes quickly and accurately.

Strong emotional intelligence, decision making, analytical, computer and organization skills.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required. This role requires full-time, onsite presence at CPAs Administrative Office (no remote or hybrid option).
