JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Payroll/Retirement Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Payroll

POSITION OVERVIEW

The purpose of this position is to compile payroll data, enter data into software system, retirement support, and maintain payroll and retirement records. Assists the Payroll Supervisor in reviewing payroll records. Answers phone and general questions regarding payroll issues. Possess the ability to work with the public, employees and vendors. This position will involve confidential information which requires confidentiality at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Data entry into various computer systems

Record employee information, such as exceptions, transfers, and resignations, in order to maintain and update payroll records

Enter new hire documentation into databases or software programs

Complete employee accruals for data system

Communicate with employees and other individuals to answer questions, and explain information regarding payroll

Maintain and update filing for payroll and retirement

Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages

Back up for payroll process and retirement admin

General retirement administrative duties (i.e. termination letters, out time tracking, etc.)

Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma. Two to four years payroll experience preferred. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems. General knowledge of computers; data entry and excel experience is required.
