The City of Sidney is accepting applications for the position of Water Commissioner. This is a supervisory and technical leadership position responsible for the administration, operation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and strategic oversight of the City's municipal water treatment and distribution systems.

The Water Commissioner serves as the department head for the Water Department and is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant water service to the community while leading department staff, managing infrastructure projects, and coordinating regulatory reporting and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

Current Montana Water Operator Certifications of:

Level 2A Water Distribution Operator, and

Level 3B Water Treatment Operator

Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in: Municipal water system operations

Water utility construction and infrastructure maintenance

Supervisory, management, or leadership roles

Valid driver's license with ability to obtain any required endorsements

High school diploma or GED (Associate's/Bachelor's degree in related field preferred)
