10 month position (Monday - Friday)

Approximate hours will vary between 7:30 am - 4:00 pm depending on building needs. (7.25 hours/day)

Job Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York

CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification

Experience in pediatric and school nursing preferred

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff

The nurse may be assigned to do UPK screenings.

The nurse will be assigned to complete UPK registration paperwork, immunization compliance, state mandated reporting as well as various other health office related duties.

Administer medications and prescribed treatments in compliance with physician orders and district policies.

Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with medical needs in consultation with Nurse Coordinator and administration

Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.) and refer as needed

Maintain accurate health records and ensure immunization compliance

Collaborate with parents, healthcare providers, and school staff to support student health needs

Promote health and wellness through education and outreach

Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed
