The purpose of this position is to maintain court records and perform administrative support tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Provides administrative support for municipal court proceedings and docketing.

Prepares correspondence, notices, court calendar, forms, bond fine/forfeiture payment reports and other court-related materials.

Maintains court files and computer records.

Receives fine, forfeiture and court cost payments; reconciles payments to appropriate records.

Responds to inquiries regarding court procedures, records and schedules.

Schedules court proceedings.

Assists in coordinating court matters with defendants, attorneys, law enforcement, social service personnel, other courts and proceeding participants.

Answer incoming calls, assist with customers and receive payments.

Assist with the entering tickets, correspondence and computer entry.

Cross train with other Court Clerks.

Process Probation correspondence.

Prepares certified documents.

Minimum Training and Experience Required

High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational/technical training.

Three years clerical experience preferred.

Physical Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

Ability to work under generally safe and comfortable conditions where exposure to environmental factors such as repetitive computer keyboard use, irate individuals and intimidation may cause discomfort and poses little risk of injury.
