Role Overview:\ The Intake Specialist is responsible for completing admission and release paperwork, screening and assessing children, and coordinating with appropriate departments and agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Screen and assess children for victimization through direct

dialogue, body reports, and case reviews.

Coordinate with DCF case workers, law enforcement, Juvenile Intake,

and the District Attorneys office to gather and transfer case information.

Identify medical concerns and medication status for each child.

Answer calls, record referral information, and complete all

necessary paperwork for incoming admissions.

Verify and check admission/release information with all relevant

departments.

Collect and distribute medical, psychological, and social

information related to the childs situation.

Follow up on obtaining medication as needed.

Confirm release plans with identified agencies and discuss plans

with families.

Provide support across departments and participate in intake on-call

rotations.

Expectations:

Knowledge of signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect, family dynamics,

and cultural norms.

Strong communication skills and ability to remain flexible and

adjust to changing needs.

Ability to interact professionally with families, colleagues, and

external agencies.

Consistently complete tasks, report to work on time, and contribute

to a team-oriented environment.
