Were hiring a Field Observer for a short-term, high-impact study on seatbelt compliance across Maine. If youre detail-oriented, self-motivated, and enjoy working independently in the field, we want to hear from you!

What Youll Do:

Travel to Oxford and Hancock counties to observe and record seatbelt

usage at 5 pre-assigned roadside sites per day

Spend 45 minutes per site collecting real-time data on traffic

Completea brief, in-person training in Lewiston, Portland, or

Augusta

Maintain accurate and organized data and paperwork

Manage your own schedule and work independently

Safely operate in both rural and high-traffic areas

What Youll Need:

Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle

Ability to pass a motor vehicle background check

Strong time management and organizational skills

Comfortable driving long distances and working outdoors in varied

weather

Willingness to stay overnight in certain locations (hotel & meal

stipend provided)

Physical Requirements:

Standing for extended periods (up to 1 hour at a time)

Frequent vehicle entry/exit, long drives between sites

Outdoor work in heat, light rain, or changing weather

Good eyesight (glasses/contacts acceptable)

Able to carry light supplies (clipboards, forms)

Compensation & Perks:

\$18/hour (includes travel and working time)

\$0.50/mile mileage reimbursement

Hotelaccommodationsand daily food stipend provided for required

overnights

All supplies and training provided
