This position will be Hybrid, based in our HQ located in Ashburn, VA.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced buyer to support the purchasing department in the procurement of products and services for our government customers. You will be responsible for managing supply chain vendors, reviewing vendor terms and agreements, requesting quotes, creating, and issuing purchase orders, and managing those orders for timely delivery.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for purchasing materials, services, supplies or equipment for corporation and its customers.

Negotiating deals with suppliers

Researching possible item selections and taking inventory of current products.

Procures materials or other goods and/or coordinates activities involved with purchasing products and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for establishment.

Receives and reviews requisitions requesting goods or services.

Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

Expedites orders and requests as needed.

Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.

Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.

Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.

Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.

Vendor creation (obtain compliance documents and request vendor approval).

Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Keeps abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered @types of materials entering the market, etc.

May work with manufacturers or persuade potential vendors to undertake the manufacturing of custom-designed items according to user's specific needs and specifications.

May approve invoices for payment.

May expedite delivery of goods to users.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) w/ 0-2 years of experience

Experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferred

Experience dealing with HW and SW supply chain distributors and manufacturers

Experience managing quotes with supply chain and executing purchase orders

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
