Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Whippany, New Jersey. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting principles who is eager to contribute to essential financial operations within the retail industry. The role involves maintaining accuracy in financial records and supporting various accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Create and manage purchase orders for vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Execute purchase orders and maintain detailed and accurate records.

Conduct regular audits to monitor inventory levels and identify discrepancies.

Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Reconcile bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy and resolve any variances.

Perform account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.

Handle accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and payment tracking.

Record and review accounting entries to ensure compliance with established standards. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance role.

Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) processes.

Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Strong knowledge of account reconciliation practices.

Familiarity with accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including invoicing and collections.

Ability to accurately record and review accounting entries.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Effective communication abilities to collaborate with internal teams and vendors.
