Description

We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative with a preferred background in Radiology and Cardiology Imaging Scheduling to join our growing healthcare team. This role is responsible for coordinating complex imaging appointments, verifying insurance coverage and eligibility, obtaining required authorizations, and delivering exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and clinical staff.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, possesses strong knowledge of imaging workflows and scheduling protocols, and is highly proficient in Epic. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance productivity, accuracy, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule radiology and cardiology imaging procedures in accordance with clinical protocols and provider requirements.

Manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls with patients, providers, and healthcare facilities.

Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage prior to scheduling services.

Obtain and track prior authorizations to ensure timely patient care and reimbursement.

Collect and review patient demographic, clinical, and financial information for accuracy.

Coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, and revenue cycle teams to resolve scheduling and authorization issues.

Educate patients regarding appointment preparation, financial responsibilities, and required documentation.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within Epic.

Adhere to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies regarding patient confidentiality.

Meet departmental productivity, quality, and customer service performance metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting multi-specialty healthcare systems or hospital networks.

Background in centralized scheduling, revenue cycle, or patient access operations.

Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
