Summit Properties is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team in South Burlington, Vermont.

This hands-on position provides transactional and administrative accounting support across Summit\'s property portfolio and corporate entities. The Accounting Clerk helps keep day-to-day accounting activities moving efficiently by supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, deposits, bookkeeping, and other general accounting functions.

The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, comfortable with technology, and able to manage recurring responsibilities and deadlines while communicating effectively with employees, managers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices and assist with accounts payable activities,

including check runs and electronic payments.

Research invoice discrepancies, prior balances, duplicate invoices,

and other routine account questions.

Respond to routine questions from vendors and managers regarding

invoices, payments, and accounts payable processes.

Assist with accounts receivable activities, billing, deposits,

tenant ledger research, and rent schedule reconciliations.

Complete assigned monthly bank reconciliations and credit card

coding.

Process recurring banking activities, billings, management fees, and

routine accounting entries.

Maintain accurate and organized electronic accounting records and

supporting documentation.

Provide routine bookkeeping and accounting support for Summit

Properties and other related entities.

Assist with annual budgets, audits, tax preparation, month-end

activities, and special accounting projects.

Help maintain accounting procedures and departmental documentation.

Provide backup support across accounts payable, accounts receivable,

and general accounting functions as needed.

Qualifications

One to three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related

experience.

Working knowledge of general ledger, balance sheet, bank

reconciliations, and basic accounting concepts.

Experience using accounting or financial management software;

experience with Yardi Voyager is a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.

Ability to manage recurring deadlines and follow responsibilities

through to completion.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a

collaborative team.
