CiTi BOCES is seeking qualified, New York State certified educational leaders to join our team as Administrative Substitutes.

Administrative Substitutes provide daily, as-needed coverage for CiTi BOCES Principals when they are absent or unavailable. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced or retired school administrators who maintain their NYS administrative certification and would like to remain connected to education while enjoying the flexibility of substitute work.

Position Overview:

The Administrative Substitute provides on-site administrative leadership and support to ensure the safe, effective, and consistent operation of CiTi BOCES programs during the absence of the regularly assigned Principal.

Assignments may be available across various CiTi BOCES programs and locations and will vary based on organizational needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide daily administrative oversight and leadership for the assigned program or building.

Support students and staff throughout the school day.

Respond to student behavioral, disciplinary, safety, and other concerns as they arise.

Assist staff in addressing immediate instructional or operational needs.

Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment.

Communicate with staff, families, and CiTi BOCES administration as appropriate.

Respond to emergencies and follow established CiTi BOCES safety and emergency procedures.

Ensure established building and program procedures are followed.

Collaborate with other CiTi BOCES administrators and support personnel as needed.

Provide continuity of leadership during the Principal's absence.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Must hold a current and valid New York State administrative certification appropriate for serving in a school-level administrative capacity (SBL, SAS, or equivalent).

Successful experience in education.

Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to respond calmly and effectively to student, staff, parent, and building-level concerns.

Ability to provide effective leadership in a variety of educational settings.

Commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and student-centered environment.

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience as a Principal, Assistant Principal, or other school administrator is strongly preferred.

Experience in special education, alternative education, career and technical education, or other specialized educational settings is also desirable.
