ASSEMBLY OPERATOR I
Location: Fairview, NC
Pay Rate: $19.37 per hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Shift: 2nd shift, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM
Training: Training will be provided on 2nd shift
Overtime: Mandatory Saturdays may be required based on production needs
We are seeking candidates for an Assembly Operator I position at our Fairview, NC facility. We manufacture relays and switches for the aerospace industry.
The Assembly Operator I is responsible for assembling components according to work instructions, drawings, and quality standards. This position may require the use of microscopes, small hand tools, measuring devices, and fixtures. The ideal candidate works well in a team, is eager to learn, and has the attention to detail needed to produce high-quality parts for our customers.
All team members are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area while following the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Inspect completed work using quality standards and work instructions.
Conduct pull tests as needed for specific operations.
Measure components using calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices.
Inspect products according to prints, drawings, and specifications.
Complete required operational paperwork to maintain product traceability.
Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs as needed.
Maintain general housekeeping and organization of the work area.
Follow company and departmental guidelines, procedures, and policies.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
Read and perform tasks according to technical drawings.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of six months of manufacturing experience required.
Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing principles, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Good communication skills.
Ability to interpret product blueprints preferred.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work to successfully complete job duties.
Experience using measuring devices, such as gauges and calipers, preferred.
Availability to work overtime to support production goals as needed, including mandatory Saturdays when required.
Ability to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 75% of the time.
Ability to operate machinery.
Ability to move between work zones.
Ability to understand and follow written instructions in English.
