Pay: 75K Base / OTE 120K

THE ROLE

The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating net-new business by identifying, prospecting, qualifying, and converting targeted Ideal Customer Profile prospects into new customers. This role focuses on acquiring new accounts through disciplined outbound outreach, market research, relationship building, and pipeline development. The Business Development Representative maintains accurate CRM activity, manages opportunities through the early sales process, and partners with Sales Management to achieve assigned new customer acquisition and revenue goals.

This position is designed for a sales professional who can create and develop new customer relationships from initial contact through qualified opportunity. Success in this role requires disciplined prospecting, consistent follow-up, accurate CRM management, and the ability to professionally represent the organization with prospective customers and industry partners.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and pursue prospective customers that align with the organization's Ideal Customer Profile.

Build and maintain a pipeline of net-new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, referrals, trade shows, networking, and market research.

Conduct proactive outreach to prospective customers through phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and other approved channels.

Qualify prospects by understanding their business needs, buying process, timeline, decision-makers, and fit with available products and services.

Meet or exceed assigned quarterly and annual new customer acquisition goals.

Create and manage qualified opportunities in the CRM, ensuring accurate activity tracking, next steps, opportunity stages, and projected close dates.

Schedule and lead introductory conversations with prospective customers to understand their needs and effectively communicate the organization's value proposition.

Partner with Sales Management to develop targeted territory, market, and account penetration strategies.

Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitive activity, and market opportunities to support new customer acquisition.

Professionally represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, customer visits, and networking opportunities.

Attend 8-10 major conferences or trade shows per year, typically 3-4 days per event, and generate targeted qualified leads based on event size, audience fit, and established pre-event goals.
