Summary The Lead Medical Reimbursement Tech position is located within the Consolidated Patient Account Center (CPAC) performing a broad range of duties to achieve the established Central Office VISN expected results for Medical billings and reimbursable and non-reimbursable collections. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Conduct all reimbursable billing activities Ensure that all billable cases are identified and bills are generated. Validate claims for billing purposes, ensuring eligibility and referring questionable coding for review. Audit accounts, insuring payments recovered by insurance carriers are posted in a timely manner to accounts. Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Keep in touch with the status and progress of work and make day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities. Distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow Coordinate completion of forms with patients, administrative staff and providers. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/30/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
