Medical Assistant

Location: Florence, SC

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join a patient-centered healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will support providers with clinical and administrative responsibilities while helping ensure efficient, high-quality patient care and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

Assist providers with patient intake, vital signs, diagnostic procedures, and laboratory work.

Support medication refill requests and other clinical needs.

Administer vaccines and immunizations to pediatric and/or adult patients as appropriate.

Facilitate efficient patient flow and exam-room turnover.

Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies.

Maintain accurate medical records and perform EMR/data-entry activities.

Assist with chart preparation prior to patient appointments.

Schedule appointments and respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner.

Provide appropriate education and information to patients and their families.

Communicate effectively with providers, patients, healthcare departments, and external healthcare organizations.

Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory.

Follow established clinical policies, procedures, protocols, and practice guidelines.

Participate in training, continuing education, conferences, and in-service opportunities.

Assist with training new Medical Assistants on standard procedures and workflows.

Provide support at other office locations when needed, which may occasionally require travel.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school.

National CMA or RMA certification required.

Current BLS certification required.

At least 2 years of experience in a physician's office .

Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and general medical practices.

Experience with EMR/database systems.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative.

Compassionate and patient-focused approach.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday. The role may require lifting or carrying items weighing up to 10 lbs. routinely and up to 30 lbs. for certain work activities. Adequate hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills are required for patient and telephone interactions.

Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 per hour , depending on qualifications and experience.

This range is aligned with the local Florence, SC market for certified Medical Assistants, with the potential for experienced candidates to be considered toward the higher end of the range.

Pay Details: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour
