The Market Finance Lead is a key member of the Gulf South Region's finance team responsible for connecting market financial performance with operational effectiveness. This role will partner closely with Corporate Finance, Network Performance, Network Contracting, and regional Health Services teams. This individual will manage a team covering a diverse set of responsibilities around Medicare Advantage financial business operations with a heavy focus on value-based providers. This role reports to the Market Finance Director.
This role analyzes financial results, claims experience, utilization trends, contract performance, membership, and provider performance data to identify opportunities, influence business decisions, and support market growth and operational improvement. The Market Finance Lead will partner closely with regional leadership, actuarial, corporate finance, clinical, risk adjustment, market operations, network performance, network contracting, sales/MarketPoint, and value-based care providers. This individual will translate complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights, recommendations, and action plans that improve performance across the market.
As the Market Finance Lead, you will:
Manage a team to review value-based providers' financial performance, membership, cost and utilization trends, contractual results, and opportunities for improvement.
Lead the financial portion of provider engagement prep sessions prior to joint operating committee meetings to advise the Network Performance team on contract performance and opportunities for improvement.
Lead analysis and reporting related to value-based provider and contract performance, including financial results, utilization, claims experience, membership, and operational trends.
Leverage data analytics, business insights, cross-functional collaboration, in-depth business knowledge, and strong written and verbal communication skills to drive optimization of Medicare Advantage performance.
Support the region's bid strategy, product positioning, and competitive analytics in partnership with Regional Leadership, MarketPoint, actuarial, product, and growth strategy teams.
Align with Corporate Finance partners on monthly accruals for value-based providers and the monthly financial close process.
Establish cross-functional relationships with multiple business partners across the organization to ensure the timely, accurate, and effective delivery of recurring and ad hoc initiatives.
Analyze market financials, claims data, utilization trends, membership movement, risk adjustment impacts, medical cost drivers, and provider contract performance.
Serve as a strategic finance partner to regional leadership, providing insights that support operational, financial, and value-based care performance.
Use independent judgment to address complex financial and operational issues with minimal supervision.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external provider partners to support collaboration, accountability, and performance improvement.
Monitor company initiatives and assess financial and operational impacts across the market.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
3 or more years of experience working with Value Based Contracts (VBC) and/or Value Based Providers (VBP)
3 or more years of experience in financial analysis and reporting
Experience presenting to and advising senior leadership on financial strategies
Knowledge of complex accounting and financial transactions for internal and external reporting
Demonstrated experience leading and managing special projects that may require cross-functional partnerships
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts
Proficiency with PowerPoint, SQL, and PowerBI
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
People management and leadership experience
Experience in Service Fund reporting
Microsoft PowerQuery
Power Automate
Hyperion Essbase
Experience with the Medicare Advantage bid process, including financial projections, product design, and competitive analysis
Additional Information
This role is "remote/work at home" and can be based anywhere in the United States, however the preferred candidate will be located in the State of Louisiana.
Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$104,000 - $143,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
