Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to support a growing organization in Medford, New Jersey. This long-term contract position is ideal for an accounting specialist who can manage core ledger activities, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to timely reporting. The role offers an opportunity to apply strong reconciliation and journal entry experience in a hands-on accounting environment. **Must live a minimum of 30 miles from Medford, New Jersey. ***

Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and adjusting financial activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prepare and post journal entries while supporting month-end and periodic closing activities.

Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to keep balances current and reliable.

Complete bank reconciliations on a regular basis and resolve outstanding items efficiently.

Assist with corporate tax and sales tax-related accounting tasks, including support for filings and documentation.

Contribute to the preparation of financial reports by organizing supporting schedules and validating underlying data.

Requirements

At least 3 years of accounting experience with a strong background in staff accountant responsibilities.

Hands-on experience working with general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with a high level of accuracy.

Exposure to corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support activities.

Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial record maintenance.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage recurring deadlines.
