Work you'll do

As a Deloitte Tax Delivery Manager supporting our Global Employer - Japanese services group, you will:

Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for high-net-worth individuals and and their advisors.

Lead tax compliance and advisory engagements involving complex individual income tax matters.

Review individual tax returns and related deliverables, identify issues, and coordinate with specialists when needed.

Build strong client relationships through clear, thoughtful communication and responsive service.

Translate complex tax matters into practical recommendations for clients and their advisors.

Lead and develop tax professionals by providing coaching, reviewing work, and coordinating assignments across multiple deadlines.

Manage engagement timelines, priorities, resources, and budgets to support high-quality client outcomes.

Collaborate with engagement leaders and other tax professionals to resolve issues, manage risks, and deliver a consistent client experience.

Client service: Builds trusted relationships with high-net-worth clients and their advisors through responsive service, clear communication, and a strong understanding of client needs.

Communication: Explains complex tax matters in a clear, practical, and professional manner to clients, leadership, and team members.

Team management: Leads, coaches, and develops team members while creating a collaborative environment focused on accountability, quality, and growth.

Delivery leadership: Organizes priorities, manages competing deadlines, anticipates risks, and coordinates resources to deliver consistent, high-quality client outcomes.

At Deloitte Tax LLP, our Japanese Services professionals advise high-net-worth individuals and families on complex tax compliance and planning matters. Qualifications

Required

Fluent in both English and Japanese (i.e. bilingual)

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other relevant discipline

5+ years of experience individual tax compliance and planning, with exposure to high-net-worth individuals

Strong technical knowledge of high-net-worth taxation, including experience reviewing complex individual and gift tax returns

Demonstrated technical skills including Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, QlikView, and Tableau

Ability to travel up to 5% on average based on the work that you do and the clients you support

Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

One of the following accreditations obtained:

Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA

If not CPA eligible:

Licensed Attorney

Enrolled Agent

Preferred

Master's degree or equivalent in a related field.

Experience serving high-net-worth individuals or private clients.

Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.

Experience leading, coaching, and developing tax professionals.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CCH tax technology or workflow tools is a plus.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,375, to $215,375.
