ABOUT THE ROLE:
Strategic Account Manager
The Key Account Manager is responsible for driving strategic growth and deepening executive relationships across a portfolio of Financial Institution accounts. As a trusted advisor, this leader will align customer business objectives with CPI's innovative hardware, software, and service solutions while championing the voice of the customer throughout the organization. Leveraging strong business acumen and consultative sales expertise, the Key Account Manager will deliver measurable outcomes, accelerate revenue growth, enhance customer retention, and build enduring partnerships that support CPI's long-term strategic objectives.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
Develop a deep understanding of retail banking operations, branch transformation initiatives, cash recyclers, teller automation, cash processing, and cash logistics environments.
Engage with financial institution executives to support strategic cash management, operational efficiency, and branch modernization initiatives.
Develop and implement strategic account plans tailored to each client's business needs and market dynamics.
Build and maintain strong multi-tiered relationships with key stakeholders, including executive-level contacts.
Maintain accurate account plans, opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and customer activity within Salesforce.com (SFDC)."
Experience presenting business reviews and strategic recommendations to senior executives, including C-suite and operational leadership teams.
Ability to influence customer strategy through consultative engagement and thought leadership.
Identify growth opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to deliver customized solutions that drive value.
Represent the voice of the customer to influence product development, service enhancements, and strategic decisions.
Monitor account performance, track KPIs, and report progress regularly; take corrective action when needed.
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product management, support, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure seamless customer experiences.
Develop deep understanding of customer cash management process and articulate the requirements to ensure CPI's newest product designs exceed future customer expectations.
Lead contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.
Analyze market trends and customer feedback to anticipate needs and proactively address challenges.
Drive customer retention and satisfaction through consistent engagement and value delivery.
Engage in monthly and quarterly business reviews to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with CPI deliverables and customer expectations.
Support annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities related to key accounts.
Champion internal alignment by facilitating communication between departments and ensuring shared goals.
Mentor junior sales team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Performance Expectations
Achieve annual revenue and margin objectives across assigned accounts.
Maintain and grow customer retention and contract renewal rates.
Increase penetration of CPI hardware, software, and service solutions.
Develop and execute account growth plans resulting in measurable year-over-year expansion.

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced education is a plus.
Prefer 8+ years of experience managing complex accounts across diverse industries.
Preferred experience within banking, financial institutions, cash automation, payments, cash logistics, fintech, branch technology, or adjacent markets
Proven success in driving revenue growth and client retention.
Strong business acumen and consultative selling skills.
Willingness to travel as required to support customer engagement, business reviews, industry events, and strategic account planning activities (typically up to 50%).
