Purchasing & Sourcing Coordinator

Location: Onsite

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing & Sourcing Coordinator to support sourcing, quoting, purchasing, and supplier performance activities. This role is responsible for coordinating material procurement activities, managing supplier communications, creating purchase orders, and tracking supplier performance to ensure materials are delivered accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent follow-up abilities, and experience working within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or administrative support functions.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing

Utilize company systems to verify material requests and sourcing requirements.

Review manufacturing and ordering locations, order quantities, reorder frequency, and shelf-life requirements.

Ensure all material requests are accurate and aligned with business needs.

Quoting

Create and distribute Requests for Quote (RFQs) to approved suppliers.

Monitor and track outstanding quotes to ensure timely responses.

Follow up with suppliers to ensure quotes are received within established turnaround times.

Maintain clear communication with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery expectations.

Purchasing

Create and process purchase orders within company purchasing systems.

Attach and maintain supporting documentation, including supplier quotes.

Route purchase orders for approval and monitor approval status.

Track outstanding purchase orders and provide status updates.

Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are delivered accurately, completely, and on schedule.

Follow up on delayed deliveries, shortages, or discrepancies as needed.

Supplier Performance & Reporting

Create and maintain supplier scorecards.

Track supplier performance metrics including:

On-time delivery

Order accuracy

Complete shipments

Overall supplier responsiveness

Assist with reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or GED

Strong organizational and administrative skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred

Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply chain, inventory management, or administrative support

Experience working with ERP or purchasing systems

Knowledge of purchase order processing and supplier communications

Experience creating reports, scorecards, or performance metrics
