Job Title: Electronics Technician
Job Description
The Electronics Technician performs high-reliability electronic and electromechanical assembly in accordance with J-STD-001 Class III standards. This role focuses on building and reworking complex RF and pushbutton switch assemblies, interpreting detailed schematics and blueprints, and ensuring that final products meet stringent quality and inspection requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform electronic and electromechanical assembly for RF switches, pushbutton switches, and related components in accordance with J-STD-001 Class III standards.
Interpret and work from complex schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to assemble complete units and intricate sub-assemblies.
Verify final assembly against blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications to ensure all requirements are met.
Execute precise hand soldering, including thru-hole soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs), in areas with difficult access and under a microscope when required.
Carry out wiring, crimping, cable routing, and cable harnessing for complex assemblies and complete units.
Install hardware and fittings, perform crimp terminations, and conduct torque tests on assembled components.
Build up complete units composed of complex sub-assemblies, ensuring proper fit, function, and compliance with engineering documentation.
Perform rework on production items to correct non-conformances and bring assemblies into full compliance with quality standards.
Conduct final inspection of assemblies, identify non-conforming conditions, and take appropriate corrective actions.
Verify completion of work, accurately document activities, and sign off shop travelers and travelers logs.
Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to confirm dimensional accuracy of parts and assemblies.
Apply basic math skills, including subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, to support assembly and inspection tasks.
Work with hand tools and electronic assembly tools in a cleanroom and climate-controlled environment while following all applicable procedures.
Maintain organized work areas and ensure that all documentation and travelers are completed accurately and on time.
Essential Skills
Proven experience in electronic and electromechanical assembly, including RF and pushbutton switch assemblies.
Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Demonstrated proficiency with J-STD-001 Class III soldering standards and J-Standard soldering practices.
Strong hand soldering skills, including thru-hole soldering on PCBs and microscope soldering for fine-pitch or difficult-access components.
Experience with PCB soldering, hardware installation, and assembly of complete units composed of complex sub-assemblies.
Skilled in wiring, cable routing, cable harnessing, crimping, and crimp terminations.
Capability to perform final inspection, identify non-conforming conditions, and support rework of production items.
Ability to verify completion of work and accurately complete and sign off shop travelers and travelers logs.
Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Competence in basic math, including subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
Comfort working with hand tools and electronic assembly tools in a cleanroom environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with JSTD-compliant soldering and assembly processes for high-reliability electronic products.
Experience in working with electronic and structural systems or similar complex industrial applications.
Familiarity with fittings, hardware installation, torque testing, and final inspection procedures.
Ability to work from complex blueprints and schematics in a production environment with multiple departments such as Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Devices, and Radio Frequency systems.
Attention to detail and strong documentation skills for maintaining accurate travelers logs and quality records.
Comfort operating in a cleanroom and climate-controlled manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gardena, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
