Asset-Backed Finance Analyst
The Asset-Backed Finance Analyst role is responsible for analyzing and managing asset-backed financing transactions, primarily focusing on the evaluation of receivables, collateral performance, and structure optimization to achieve our clients' strategic financial goals. Working closely with our portfolio management and underwriting teams to ensure sound investment decisions are made based on rigorous data analysis and market research.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Conducts detailed financial analysis of asset-backed securities and evaluates performance metrics.
Prepares complex financial models to assess risk and return profiles of asset-backed transactions.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to structure asset-backed financing solutions that meet client objectives.
Prepares comprehensive reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients, summarizing financial findings and market insights.
Monitors and analyzes trends in the asset-backed financing market to identify potential opportunities and risks.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to asset-backed transactions.
Assists in the due diligence process by reviewing documentation and assessing the creditworthiness of underlying assets.
Minimum Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio management, financial analysis, or a related financial services role.
Understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and credit risk assessment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Willingness to travel up to 15% as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Structured Finance, Specialty Finance, Asset-Based Lending, or other secured lending environments.
Formal credit training or experience applying commercial credit policies and risk-rating methodologies.
Knowledge of loan documentation, borrowing-base lending, collateral monitoring, and covenant compliance.
Experience preparing credit approval memos, annual reviews, risk assessments, or portfolio reporting.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

This position is accepting applications from virtual candidates residing in Maryland. Additional Responsibilities
Assist in the underwriting, execution and ongoing monitoring of secured financing transactions across a variety of asset classes, including specialty finance companies and other financial institutions.
Prepare transaction materials including preliminary deal screening memos, approval and closing memos.
Review and analyze borrower financial statements, collateral files, loan tapes, borrowing-base certificates, and other required reporting for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with transaction terms.
Build and maintain financial and cash flow models to evaluate transaction structure, advance rates, coverage metrics, and key risk factors.
Monitor financial and collateral performance, covenant compliance, risk ratings, portfolio concentrations, borrower liquidity and capitalization, and other key credit indicators; identify and escalate emerging risks.
Review borrowing-base submissions, collateral eligibility, funding and advance requests, and related supporting documentation in accordance with facility terms and internal approval requirements.
Identify, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across similar transactions in the portfolio to support trend analysis, risk identification, and portfolio reporting.
Support amendments, waivers, and other servicing requests by coordinating updated diligence, preparing modification memoranda, and assisting with changes to legal documentation.
Assist with recurring credit and reporting processes, including annual reviews, internal risk rating updates, deal monitoring, portfolio reporting, and covenant compliance tracking.
Support day-to-day client management activities, respond to routine requests, and provide transaction updates.
Conduct industry, asset class, and market research to support underwriting, portfolio analysis, and risk identification.
Follow the Bank's credit, compliance, regulatory, and operational standards throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Contribute to internal risk reviews and credit committee discussions.
