Accounting Manager/Plant

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead accounting activities for two manufacturing plant locations in Bristol, Pennsylvania. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening cost accounting practices, and delivering reporting that supports business decisions. The role works closely with finance leadership and plant operations to ensure strong controls, timely close processes, and reliable financial insight.

Responsibilities:

Direct accounting operations for two plant facilities, ensuring consistent financial processes and accurate reporting across both locations.

Lead monthly and annual close activities by reviewing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and other core accounting records.

Produce financial reports and contribute to forecast and budget preparation to support planning and performance management.

Evaluate operating results against budget targets and prior-period performance, identifying key trends and variances for leadership review.

Oversee transaction processing related to billing, collections, disbursements, and banking activity while maintaining proper financial controls.

Maintain cost accounting records and monitor standard costing data to support accurate product costing in a manufacturing setting.

Coordinate physical inventory activities and manage fixed asset records to ensure completeness, valuation accuracy, and policy compliance.

Partner with external auditors and tax advisors by preparing schedules, documentation, and support for annual review and filing requirements.

Strengthen accounting procedures, internal controls, and team capabilities through process improvement and staff development initiatives. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with preference for experience in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated expertise in general ledger management, financial reporting, account reconciliations, cost accounting in a plant environment and month-end close,

Strong background in plant cost accounting, including standard costing and manufacturing cost analysis.

Experience supporting audits, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with accounting or ERP systems.

Solid understanding of internal controls and U.S. accounting principles.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
