Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys and legal staff in a fast-paced legal environment in Towson, Maryland. This position plays a key role in keeping daily operations organized by coordinating schedules, managing documents, handling administrative tasks, and helping maintain accurate client and matter records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates professionally, and can manage confidential information with discretion while balancing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities:

Manage attorney calendars and coordinate appointments, meetings, conference logistics, and travel arrangements to support daily workflow.

Review incoming mail and correspondence, organize materials for attorney follow-up, and help ensure timely responses to priority items.

Prepare billing-related documents, process expense and accounting information, and assist with accurate entry of timekeeping records when needed.

Support client matter intake by helping establish new files, conducting conflict checks, and maintaining organized physical and electronic records throughout the matter lifecycle.

Draft, format, and finalize legal correspondence and other documents with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.

Handle copying, scanning, emailing, faxing, and filing tasks to ensure documents are properly distributed and retained.

Assist with court-related administrative work, including electronic filing and litigation support activities as required.

Provide coverage for reception and offer administrative support to other team members when workload or scheduling demands require it.

Protect sensitive firm and client information by following confidentiality standards in all communications and recordkeeping activities. Requirements - Prior experience in a legal assistant, legal administrative, or comparable office support role within a services environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and internal staff.

Excellent organizational ability and close attention to detail when managing schedules, documents, and case-related materials.

Proven ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and remain effective in a busy and deadline-driven setting.

Working knowledge of office administrative practices, records management, and general clerical procedures.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the ability to learn new software quickly.

Experience with court filings, electronic filing platforms, or litigation support processes is strongly preferred.

Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment and discretion at all times.
