SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible to use the skills required to install, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on all plant equipment and the facility as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintenance of machine equipment and hand tools.
Troubleshoot a problem beyond basic component replacement.
Preventative maintenance, and repair of various @types of production equipment including but not limited to cleaning and lubricating shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery or plant equipment.
Ability to work on hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electron components.
Responsible for proper administration of LOTO, confined space and other OSHA guidelines.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
Maintain production schedules.
Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
Other duties may be assigned later.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Education required/ preferred:
High School diploma or GED. Minimum of two years trade school or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Industrial experience in a similar industry preferred.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in basic mechanical skills
Excellent precision measuring ability
Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems
Understand practical aspects of preventative, predictive maintenance systems & proper lubrication selection & application
Skills/Competencies:
Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office package
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to use all general mechanical hand tools and light power tools
Other Skills:
Ability to work well in a team environment
Self-motivated
Detail oriented

Report directly to the Plant Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

Standing is required for extended periods of time. Carrying, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, stooping, and grasping are performed on an occasional basis.
Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to working at high elevations, operation of equipment with guards and safeties removed for troubleshooting, high voltages, steam pressure and high-water pressure and confined spaces.
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
