Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a construction-focused organization in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and support payroll and billing functions in a fast-paced environment. The role offers the chance to contribute across several core accounting processes while working closely with operational and financial teams.

Responsibilities:

Manage routine bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records for daily accounting operations.

Process hourly payroll and help ensure timely and accurate wage payments for employees.

Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with project and compliance requirements.

Perform bank and account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Generate customer invoices in a high-volume setting while maintaining billing accuracy and proper documentation.

Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers regarding payment status and collections activity.

Support general accounting tasks that contribute to organized reporting and smooth financial operations. Requirements - Previous bookkeeping or staff accounting experience, preferably within the construction or contractor industry.

Hands-on experience processing payroll, including hourly payroll administration.

Knowledge of certified payroll reporting and related compliance standards.

Strong background in bank reconciliations, invoicing, and accounts receivable collections.

Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks accurately in a high-volume environment.

Proficiency in bookkeeping systems; experience with QuickBooks is a plus.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
