The Miami Job Corps Center is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and student-focused Senior Residential Advisor to join our Residential Living team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced youth-development professional who is ready to take on a leadership role. The Senior Residential Advisor directs and coordinates the activities of Residential Advisors on an assigned shift while helping create a safe, structured, supportive, and positive living environment for our students.

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Residential Advisor, you will provide leadership and oversight within the dormitory while supporting the personal and professional development of students.

Key responsibilities include:

Direct and coordinate the activities of Residential Advisors during the assigned shift.

Supervise dormitory conditions and make appropriate decisions and recommendations to maintain a safe and productive residential environment.

Assist with the training, development, and evaluation of Residential Living staff.

Perform Residential Advisor duties as necessary to ensure student safety, accountability, and appropriate behavior.

Complete administrative responsibilities involving student passes, leaves, evaluations, progress reports, emergencies, terminations, and other residential matters.

Maintain accurate student records and ensure information is entered into the Center information system in a timely manner.

Coordinate dormitory activities, including entertainment, unit competitions, social activities, and other student engagement opportunities.

Conduct dormitory inspections and identify facility maintenance and safety needs.

Direct dormitory patrols and daily cleanup activities.

Monitor supplies and requisition items necessary to support dormitory operations and student safety.

Identify students who may need additional support and coordinate visits with counselors.

Communicate with students' families, when appropriate, to help resolve concerns and support student well-being.

Participate in and conduct orientation activities and social skills training as assigned.

Provide positive and professional customer service to students, staff, families, and other Center customers.

Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.

Model and promote Career Success Standards, mentor students, recognize positive behaviors, and provide appropriate interventions when concerns arise.

Work overtime when directed and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of one year of Job Corps or related program experience.

Regular and predictable attendance.

Ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and interact with young adults.

Preferred:

Advanced degree or additional education.

Valid in-State Driver's License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the ability to perform activities including sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and/or appropriately assess a load and request assistance when necessary.
