Job Description
The Administrative Support professional provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of a manufacturing facility. This role requires strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Acting as a key point of contact for employees, vendors, customers, and visitors, this position supports both daily office functions and production-related administrative activities while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to company policies.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to leadership and departmental staff across the manufacturing facility.
Create, edit, and maintain documents, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Office applications.
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments to support efficient time management.
Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and visitor inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
Greet guests at the front desk and ensure a positive, welcoming experience for visitors and vendors.
Maintain organized filing systems, records, and confidential documents in both physical and electronic formats.
Enter and update data accurately in company databases and systems, including production and inventory information.
Work on the production floor at times to support production-related administrative needs and data entry.
Collaborate closely with the production team and remote HR team to support cross-functional operations.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative or office support experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
Professional phone etiquette and front desk/customer-facing communication skills.
Comfort working in and around a production floor environment.
Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility on a first-shift schedule, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position involves working closely with the production team and a remote HR team, with time spent both in the office and on the production floor. The facility has a distinct smell that is noticeable within the work area. The culture emphasizes a strong team mentality, with employees cross-trained across various administrative functions. The daily schedule includes two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch at 11:30 a.m. The environment is professional, safety-focused, and structured to support efficient operations and collaboration.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pocahontas, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
