Kelly Services is seeking a Staff Accountant for a growing organization in Runnemede, NJ. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a dependable, self-motivated accounting professional who can work independently, stay organized, and effectively manage competing priorities.
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting activities, monthly financial close, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and other financial reporting needs. This position also offers an excellent opportunity for long-term career growth into an Accounting Manager role.
Responsibilities
Prepare bank and balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely.
Prepare and review journal entries, including write-offs and inventory adjustments.
Maintain supporting documentation for monthly journal entries.
Assist with inventory control, including warehouse and store cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
Support sales tax filings and other accounting compliance activities.
Maintain utility allocations between business entities.
Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Assist with 1099 reporting and other year-end accounting activities.
Take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
Previous accounting experience with a solid understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
Previous ERP experience required; Sage 100 experience is preferred.
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
Ability to work independently without extensive supervision.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities and situations.
Spanish-speaking skills are a plus not a must
