Human Resources Coordinator

Job Description

Butterfly Grove School is an independent school that serves autistic students and embeds

therapeutic support into daily learning and play. The School HR Coordinator oversees site-level

human resources operations, managing the full employee lifecycle for instructional and operational

staff. This role ensures smooth staffing, accurate onboarding, state compliance, and credential

tracking, serving as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries and operational HR needs.

Key Responsibilities

? Recruitment & Staffing Support

? Post job openings across internal and external boards; screen candidate resumes.

? Schedule and coordinate interviews for school leadership.

? Maintain applicant tracking records and support candidate communications.

? Onboarding & Offboarding

? Support the School & Workplace Design Partner in:

¦ Facilitating new hire orientation, paperwork completion, and system setups.

¦ Manage background checks ?Fingerprinting/FBI/State clearances) and

required health screenings ?TB tests).

¦ Conduct exit interviews and process offboarding tasks and equipment

collection.

? Compliance & Credentials

? Track and audit certifications, credentials, and required permits.

? Ensure 100% compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and educational

standards.

? Maintain physical and digital personnel files according to document retention

guidelines.

? Employee Relations & Daily Operations

? Serve as the first point of contact for staff questions regarding leaves and policies.

? Serve as the point of contact for staff or school grievances, complaints,

investigations, and performance plans.

? Track leaves of absence ?FMLA, sick leave, maternity/paternity leave) in alignment

with school policy.

? Assist school leadership with employee recognition initiatives and wellness events.

Skills and Requirements

Can commit to the schedule - 7:30AM - 4:15 PM onsite in Belmont!

Education/Experience:

? Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

(preferred).

? SHRM?CP or PHR is a plus.

? Minimum of 5 years of experience in a school-based setting

? Human Resource experience in a school setting

? Strong commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practices in naturalistic environments

? Strong interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to maintain cooperative,

professional relationships with students, colleagues, and families

Minimum Requirements:

? Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

? Ability to pass a Department of Justice ?DOJ? fingerprint clearance

? Within 60 days of hire, provision of TB (tuberculin) clearance, as mandated by the California
