What We Need:
The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing Brady Corporation's strategic growth objectives and overall business success. This position is responsible for developing and expanding key customer relationships in tier-one retail, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth within targeted accounts. Through a deep understanding of customer challenges and market dynamics, the Business Development Manager delivers tailored solutions that create value, strengthen partnerships, and consistently exceed customer expectations.
This role reports directly to the Director of Strategic Retail Sales and can be based anywhere in the United States, operating under a fully remote work arrangement with approximately 50% travel.
As a key contributor to the organization's commercial success, the Business Development Manager is instrumental in penetrating and growing strategic accounts while fostering long-term customer loyalty. By cultivating strong relationships with decision-makers, uncovering emerging opportunities, and aligning Brady's solutions with customer objectives, this individual enhances customer satisfaction, strengthens the company's competitive position, and supports sustainable business growth. The impact of this role extends beyond revenue generation, contributing to market expansion, customer retention, and the achievement of the company's long-term strategic goals.
What You'll Be Doing:
Penetrate and grow a portfolio of tier-one retail accounts serving as the primary point of contact for customer relationships.
Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions.
Drive new logo acquisition through strategic prospecting and outreach.
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
Minimum of 6 years of Tier-one retail account management, business development or sales experience
A deep understanding of the key business and technology requirements of tier-one retailers
Proven ability to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
Experience selling to the NRF Top 100 Retailers
Experience selling scanning, print, mobility, voice, hardware and software products and services
Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics
Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable approaching executive level contacts and successfully engaging them in the Brady value conversation
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $130,000 - $150,000. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York and California, the annual base salary range is $130,000 - $150,000.
