Job Description

This is a fully onsite role based at our Global Central Laboratory in Highland Heights, KY. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position, and any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

2nd shift: Tuesday-Saturday, 4:00PM-12:30AM ET

Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. What You'll Do:

Our Technical Leads coordinate major sample events, directing sample management and laboratory staff in a functional area. Deciphers complex protocols and ensures the validity of sample requests and adherence to secure and robust sample handling processes in a dynamic environment. Supports risk assessment and design of sample handling practices.

Perform any or all Sample Coordinator functions, including oversight and execution of a variety of complex standard and sample tasks (receipt, accessioning, routing, storage, aliquoting, shipping, discard, destruction, etc.) in support of the Sample Management department.

Act as back-up in the absence of management and serve as a technical liaison for project-specific sample management procedures.

Respond to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities.

Perform work assignments accurately, timely, and safely.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 6 years).

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Possess basic understanding of GLP/GCP

Familiar with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point

Familiar with environmental monitoring systems

Effective time management and project management skills

Have good leadership abilities

Detail-oriented mindset

Problem solving/troubleshooting abilities

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Able to work in a collaborative team environment

Work is performed in a clinical environment. Ability to prioritize assignments and work within potentially stressful deadlines (all).
