VP/Director of Finance

Description We are looking for an accomplished finance leader to partner closely with plant and business leadership in Madison, Indiana. This role will guide financial planning, operational analysis, and performance reporting for a manufacturing environment while helping leaders make sound, data-driven decisions. The position is well suited for someone who combines strong cost accounting expertise with a hands-on approach to improving efficiency, profitability, and overall plant results.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with leaders across operations, supply chain, logistics, and research functions to identify ways to improve efficiency and strengthen margins.

Direct the budgeting, forecasting, month-end review, and ongoing financial reporting processes for the manufacturing site.

Create and refine financial and operational performance indicators that help leadership track results and prioritize actions.

Evaluate production costs, inventory levels, working capital, and capital investments to uncover risks and improvement opportunities.

Oversee standard costing practices, cost accounting controls, and initiatives designed to enhance inventory accuracy and valuation.

Prepare financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases that support strategic decisions and operational priorities.

Contribute to lean manufacturing efforts and cross-functional improvement projects aimed at reducing waste and increasing productivity.

Present key financial insights, business trends, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Lead, coach, and develop finance team members while promoting accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the function. Requirements - 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant exposure to manufacturing or plant-based operations.

Strong knowledge of budgeting, annual planning, forecasting, and month-end close activities.

Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analysis.

Deep understanding of standard cost accounting, standard costing methodologies, and inventory accounting.

Ability to translate financial data into practical recommendations for operational and executive stakeholders.

Experience supporting capital spending reviews, cost improvement efforts, and working capital management.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor team members and work effectively across multiple business functions.
