Job Description
The Inventory Clerk supports an active construction site by tracking, receiving, and managing truss driver parts, materials, tools, and consumables. This entry-level role maintains accurate inventory records, assists with small equipment maintenance, and manages documentation such as packing slips, purchase order logs, and bills of lading. The position is ideal for a dependable, organized, and hands-on individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
Receive, verify, and organize incoming shipments using packing slips, Purchase Order Logs (POLs), and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
Ensure all paperwork matches delivered items, document discrepancies, and report any issues to support accurate inventory records.
Track inventory movement and maintain accurate logs of truss driver parts, materials, tools, and consumables.
Tag and label inventory items with appropriate identifiers to ensure clear identification and traceability.
Rebuild and organize drill bits used for drilling to ensure they are ready and available for use.
Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on site tools and equipment, including hand tools and small power tools.
Maintain a clean and orderly inventory area, including tool cribs, laydown yards, and storage containers.
Issue tools and materials to site mechanics and other team members while accurately logging usage and returns.
Use basic computer applications to update spreadsheets, perform data entry, and maintain digital inventory logs.
Communicate effectively with site personnel to coordinate inventory needs and support daily construction activities.
Essential Skills
1+ years of Experience in inventory management and inventory control.
Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records.
Comfort reading and interpreting packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and purchase orders.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications for spreadsheets and digital logs.
Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks such as walking, bending, and lifting.
Comfort working in variable outdoor conditions on an active construction site.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Entry-level maintenance or mechanical aptitude is a plus.
Prior experience on a construction site or in a warehouse environment is a bonus but not required.
Solar construction experience is preferred.
Forklift certification is a plus.

Work Environment

Work involves frequent use of hand tools, small power tools, and basic computer applications such as spreadsheets for inventory tracking. Appropriate workwear suitable for a construction site, including safety gear as required by site standards, is expected.

This is a Contract position based out of Moses Lake, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
