As businesses prepare for increased project demands and operational needs, Robert Half is actively seeking experienced Shop Managers, Operations Coordinators, Warehouse Supervisors, and Logistics professionals for upcoming contract-to-hire opportunities with our clients in the construction, skilled trades, and services industries. We're currently partnering with a growing plumbing organization seeking a highly organized, hands-on Shop Manager to oversee daily shop operations, equipment logistics, inventory coordination, and facility maintenance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, leading a small team, and ensuring crews have the tools and resources needed to operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

Supervise, coordinate, and support a team of 2 employees

Prioritize daily tasks and ensure operational goals are met

Foster a safe, productive, and organized work environment

Tool & Equipment Logistics

Manage incoming tool and equipment deliveries from vendors

Coordinate distribution of tools, supplies, and equipment to field crews and job sites

Track inventory and maintain organization of shop assets

Delivery & Materials Coordination

Receive and manage office deliveries

Coordinate and schedule deliveries to active job sites

Serve as a central point of contact between vendors, field teams, and office personnel

Purchasing & Inventory Management

Purchase office supplies and operational materials

Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed

Ensure timely delivery and distribution of supplies

Facility & Yard Maintenance

Coordinate basic repairs and maintenance for the office, shop, and yard

Assist with fleet and equipment upkeep scheduling

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of company facilities

Requirements

Qualifications

Previous experience in Shop Management, Operations Coordination, Warehouse Management, Logistics, Fleet Management, or a similar role

Experience within plumbing, construction, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or skilled trades environments preferred

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

Experience supervising or coordinating a small team

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to coordinate repairs and maintenance

Forklift operation experience required

Ability to lift and move tools, materials, and equipment as needed

Work Environment

This is a hands-on position that requires regular interaction with shop operations, materials, equipment, and active construction job sites. The Shop Manager will occasionally make deliveries to job sites and will be required to wear company-provided safety equipment, including a hard hat and other required PPE when on-site.
