Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
This role focuses on receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items in a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. You will maintain accurate inventory records, organize stock for easy access, and support smooth warehouse operations while following safety procedures and operating material handling equipment, including forklifts.
Responsibilities
Receive incoming stock items, verify quantities, and accurately record data manually or using a computer system.
Count and document stock items regularly to maintain accurate inventory records.
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or correct errors as needed.
Store items in an orderly, accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other storage areas.
Label stock items clearly using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Monitor and keep records of the use and condition of stock and stock handling equipment.
Examine and inspect stock items for wear, damage, or defects and report any issues to supervisors.
Provide assistance and direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers to support efficient operations.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move, load, and unload materials as required.
Perform general labor tasks such as picking, packing, and unloading to support daily warehouse activities.

Experience performing general labor, material handling, packing, unloading, and warehouse picking tasks.
2-4 years of relevant experience, including prior work in roles such as Material Handler.
High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard environment.
Prior job titles such as Material Handler or similar warehouse roles.
Comfort using basic computer systems or inventory software to record and track stock data.
Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for maintaining a clean and compliant warehouse.
Ability to work a fixed shift schedule and adapt to workload fluctuations.
Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse or storage yard setting, working primarily with stockrooms, tool rooms, and supply rooms. You will handle materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment, and perform tasks such as picking, packing, unloading, and organizing stock. The scheduled shift is Shift 1, from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, which requires comfort with early-morning start times and full-day shifts. The work involves standing, walking, lifting, and moving items throughout the day, as well as working around equipment and storage racks. You will operate within established safety procedures and maintain clean, orderly storage areas to support a safe and efficient workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vonore, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
