Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant/Consultant to support a 4-6 week GL clean-up project opportunity with a client in the Dayton, OH area. Role will support a variety of general ledger clean-up activities to include: account reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and audit/corrections to prior recons. Project is expected to last 4-6 weeks. Role is based 100% onsite at the client's location in Enon, OH.

Responsibilities:

Review and correct general ledger activity to support a focused clean-up effort over the course of the assignment.

Rework prior account reconciliations and roll-forward schedules to ensure balances are accurate and properly supported.

Analyze payroll-related accounts, identify inconsistencies, and complete detailed reconciliation of current and historical payroll activity.

Prepare and post journal entries needed to resolve discrepancies and align account balances with supporting documentation.

Perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances requiring follow-up or adjustment.

Assist with month-end close activities by organizing financial data and helping maintain accurate reporting timelines.

Reconcile bank accounts and other key balance sheet areas to improve overall ledger reliability.

Partner with internal stakeholders onsite to clarify transaction details and ensure accounting issues are resolved efficiently.

Requirements - Strong background in general accounting with the ability to manage complex ledger review and clean-up work.

Demonstrated experience with month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account analysis.

Proven expertise in general ledger maintenance and detailed account reconciliation.

Solid experience performing balance sheet and bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.

Hands-on knowledge of payroll reconciliation, including review of prior-period payroll balances.

Ability to revisit historical accounting records, identify errors, and rebuild support schedules as needed.

Comfortable working in a fully onsite role in Enon, Ohio for the duration of this Contract assignment.
