JOB DESCRIPTION
Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and organizational support to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Office of Academic Affairs. This person helps keep daily operations, meetings, events, and communications running smoothly while managing details that require accuracy, discretion, and follow-through.
Primary responsibilities include:
Manage the VPAA's calendar, schedule meetings, field phone calls, and respond to or route inquiries.
Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and materials, take minutes, and help track follow-up items.
Enter and maintain contracts, records, and other administrative information accurately.
Coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for academic events, including commencement and matriculation.
Assist with correspondence, deadlines, and the many day-to-day details that support the work of Academic Affairs.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, attentive to detail, and comfortable shifting between priorities. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, discretion, and a willingness to help wherever needed are essential.
